Events in the Saas Valley

Ice climbing as a competitive sport is basically still a rather young and trendy sport, and yet Saas-Fee can look back on many successfully staged events. Since 2000 Saas-Fee has served as a World Cup venue and and now take place for the 25th time.

The first Allalin races took place in 1946. At that time, nine young

skiers started from the summit of the 4027-meter-high mountain Allalin

and plunged down into the 2227-meter lower located Saas-Fee. Only five

skiers mastered the unprepared track to the finish. Today, the start is

in the ski area and the track for the race is well prepared.
